"interview" with homeschool detractor

Yikes! Is this guy for real? Come on, get a clue! Yea...I can't teach ballet...so I send my daughter to ballet classes...duh. I may not be 'smart enough' according to him but I know that much and yet he doesn't seem to grasp that simple concept. Also...where does he get off saying that if we are smart enough to homeschool then we'd be smart enough to earn enough money to send them to private schools (as if we'd want to)...geesh...then using his reasoning we shouldn't be sending our kids out to be taught by people who don't make enough money to send their own kids to private schools either(school teacher salaries are notorious for being on the low side...no?)

Jellyfish

FOOTPRINTS ON THE WATER

FOOTPRINTS ON THE WATER

When I was a little fish, swimming happily
I heard the sound of footsteps
Walkin on the sea
I swam up to the surface
And much to my surprise
There on top of the water
Right before my eyes

Chorus
And I saw footprints on the water
Footprints on the sea
Footprints on the water
And I could not believe
I saw Jesus, Jesus
Walking on the waves
Footprints on the water that day

Then a man named Peter
Stepped out on the waves
He tried to walk to Jesus
Then, he sank away
He took his eyes off Jesus
What a big mistake
Down he went into the sea
O ye of little faith"

ANTS: Facts about ants

Entomology (Study of Bugs):

Entomology (Study of Bugs): ants, dead ants, species of ants: "Ants carry other ants for a few different reasons...

1) When an ant dies in the colony, another ant will pick up the dead ant and carry it to a 'trash' area of the nest. This trash area may contain dead ants, remains of insects eaten for food, bits of grass or other particles in the nest that are considered by the ants to be 'trash.'
2) Ants get parasitic diseases and fungal diseases that are contagious and may be passed to other ants. Sick ants are carried as far away from the nest as possible to reduce the chances of introducing a disease into the colony.
3) Some species of ants are very territorial and will fight with other ant colonies (same or different species) for territory. Ants get killed in these battles and the victors will carry the dead ants around and sometimes place the dead ants around the entrance of their nest."

Heck...we have so many of them around that we might as well study them...lol. I was noticing an ant carrying another dead ant around and decided to look it up (see answer above).

curriculum ordered!

Sample packet

The above is Sarah's first grade curriculum...Christian's Kindergarten lessons I still need to play a bit with. He's too advanced for the CHC K stuff (he's already reading), but not mature enough to tackle 1'st grade work. We'll probably do some 'Little Saints' stuff...I love their reading list and practice more with his writing.

Will be doing Math-U-See with both kids.

This will be our first year reporting to the school system...so I'm very excited and a little nervous. All prayers appreciated.
